SONOMA COUNTY; STEVE’S BIRTHDAY, THANKSGIVING, CAITLIN’S BIRTHDAY, CHRISTMAS NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER, 2015

We finished out our first year of RV life in Petaluma, California. Family birthdays, holiday meals, gift giving in our motorhome, fine Sonoma wine tasting kept us busy for two months.

STEVE’S 65TH BIRTHDAY PARTY AT PETALUMA KOA RV PARK:
We arrived back in Sonoma County at the Petaluma KOA just in time to celebrate Steve’s 65th birthday. Many friends and family came to party and check out our ‘Rock Star’ Motorhome. Some spent the night in our RV, some slept in the KOA cabins, and others stayed at nearby friend’s homes since multiple bottles of alcohol were consumed. It was a perfect way to see all our friends that we miss so much when we are on the road.

WINE TASTING IN ALEXANDER VALLEY AND CARNEROS VALLEY:
Carneros Region of Napa and Sonoma Valley is north of San Pablo Bay. Patty lived in Marin and Carneros was a short drive to taste their pinot noir and chardonnay. Caitlin and Patty spent a day exploring Carneros Valley. We were looking for a winery that would be a fun place for Caitlin’s 24th birthday party. Starmount and Artesa were possibilities except by December the grape leaves would be gone.
Taryn flew in from Chicago for Thanksgiving. Steve, Taryn and Patty spent Black Friday after Thanksgiving touring and tasting at the Alexander Valley wineries. Alexander Valley is north of Healdsburg in Sonoma County. This region is known for their Cabernets and Merlot.

THANKSGIVING AT CAITLIN’S MILL VALLEY CONDO:
Caitlin hosted Thanksgiving at her condo this year. We were lucky to have Taryn take a break from Medical School to join us. Kevin, Briana, Caitlin, Taryn, Steve and Patty all pitched in and brought their favorite Thanksgiving dish to consume. Everything was so delicious and there were no leftovers for Maverick.

REMINISCING MILL VALLEY WITH CAITLIN:
Caitlin and Patty had fun exploring Mill Valley; hiking to the top of Mt. Tamalpais, hiking on Glen Drive trail by our old house, eating at Joe’s Taco. We have a lot of memories made in Mill Valley. Patty lived there for 30 years, longer than anywhere else in her life.

CAITLIN’S 24TH BIRTHDAY IN SAN FRANCISCO:
Caitlin’s 24th birthday is one week before Christmas. We took the ferry from Larkspur into the San Francisco Embarcadero to see the Christmas lights and celebrate Caitlin’s day. John and Jan Clifford, Kevin and Briana Clifford, Kevin Schwach, Caitlin, Steve and Patty had a good time at Americano Restaurant in Hotel Vita.

CHRISTMAS IN THE RV:
Kevin, Briana, and Caitlin came to Steve and Patty’s RV for our traditional Christmas Brunch; Steve’s crepes, homemade blackberry jam, Patty’s caprese style spinach and poached eggs. Each person had his or her own huge gift bag full of presents. Throughout the year Steve and Patty have collected their favorite items for Christmas presents; Chicago Melina’s Natural Hot Sauce, South Dakota sunflower seeds, Washington Blackberry Homemade Jam, Yellowstone fishing flies, Wyoming Goat’s Milk lotions, various green teas, and Patty’s homemade Chia breakfast cereal.
