TUCSON, ARIZONA AND COLORADO FOREST NATIONAL PARK
We needed a part for our air conditioning unit and had to wait in Tucson for a week. We made the best of the situation. We explored Old Tucson and Yelp led us to the best Mexican Restaurant, The Little Café Poca Cosa. I still dream of their huevos rancheros. Old Tucson had a historical fort area in which we walked into an elementary school field trip, learned a lot and pretended to be a chaperone.
We hiked in the Colorado Forest on the Golden Gate Trail. It wasn’t a forest, more cactus, dirt, and stone mountains so I guess it was Arizona’s term for forest. We still do not know why this trail was called Golden Gate since it led to nowhere.
On the weekend we took a side trip to the towns of Benson, Tombstone, Bisbee, and Sierra Vista. Of the four towns, Tombstone was the best.
